Mission Planning

Mission planning translates science objectives and operational constraints into a flight plan the glider can execute safely and effectively. It encompasses waypoint track design, dive parameter configuration, weather and tidal analysis, risk assessment, and the regulatory notifications required before any vehicle enters the water. Thorough planning reduces the probability of mission abort, vehicle loss, and unplanned interactions with maritime traffic or protected areas. All planning must be completed and reviewed before the lab test phase begins.
